It’s the first and likely last time I’ll do it for at least a couple more years. She loved it. She said she felt like a princess 😍 probably because her hair has never been this loose. This … free. Kinda like how I’ve felt since my serious SERIOUS break from IG. Anxiety, moodiness, short-temper, sleeplessness and … imposter syndrome. My approach simply wasn’t healthy. Ask my therapist. Even now I’m still stuck in the shackles of imposter syndrome. And I don’t know how to get out of it - or if I ever will. In addition, I prided myself on doing what I wanted to do, yet I wasn’t. And I know what I prefer to spend my time doing. And it’s not this. So I unfollowed ALOT of people who made me feel not good enough - through no fault of their own. People I barely knew or even cared abt, and who probably felt the same about me TBH. And it’s whatever. Going forward, I want to go back to my healthier approach to IG. And refocus on what I like doing. I remember sitting in the middle of the food court crying because it was the first time I realized Skylar could feed herself. I cried when she took her first steps. I yelped in excitement during a work meeting at the sight of it - and scared everyone on the call 😂 - but I cried after the call. And while she’s no calligrapher, I cried at watching my little baby learn to trace. I don’t know what it is about moms and those milestones. On one hand I’m so happy for her development, but on the other she’s becoming less of a baby. Yes we’re far away from her being super independent. I remember sitting in the middle of the food court crying because it was the first time I realized Skylar could feed herself.

I cried when she took her first steps. I yelped in excitement during a work meeting at the sight of it - and scared everyone on the call 😂 - but I cried after the call.

And while she’s no calligrapher, I cried at watching my little baby learn to trace.

I don’t know what it is about moms and those milestones. On one hand I’m so happy for her development, but on the other she’s becoming less of a baby. Yes we’re far away from her being super independent. And prayerfully, even further away from those hateful teenage years, but still, as she reaches developmental milestones, a small part of me mourns the baby who won’t need us for everything ... sooner than later.
